1Genuinely, it’s so thick that even with milk I nearly have to eat it. I got the unflavoured one. I won’t be trying this product again

Good and effective
5Slow release casein helped a lot in fat loss and meal replacements. It helps u to hit ur daily macros.

Not the best product
1So trying out the casein and first impressions its not that great tbh. It doesnt mix very well with water just comes up grainy like wallpaper paste. Took to trying milk it just foams up when mixed but was still grainy and tasted like drinking chalk.

Love Myprotein. Hate this product
1I bought the chocolate version and I have been so disappointed with it. When you mix it with milk it turns in to a horrible foam that takes ages to settle and even then it tastes gritty and is hard to drink. Would not recommend this product.Goes Well With:The bin

It does the job- if you can keep it down!
4I’ve used casein for years to ease DOMS overnight and get a decent PM protein hit-it has its pros and cons- casein is casein- the texture is much finer so it’s not the easiest thing to blend. It’s never going to blend like whey, or have the same consistency, as it’s the solid part of the milk, but even so, I didn’t get on well with this one at all. I wanted to like this, as I’ve used MP for a good few years now, but this is the first time I’ve used MP casein (I love iso:pro whey and collagen protein but my usual casein brand is ON). Unfortunately it’s the first and last time I’ll use it-which sucks as I have rather a lot of it and love MP products usually. Even for casein, this is incredibly resistant to mix- I’ve tried it every which way you can imagine-blended, stirred, whisked, water, milk, yogurt, hot, cold, blending it with other combined proteins- it doesn’t want to mix with anything at all. The only way I can get it to mix even partly well Is hot milk (heat in the pan on the hob, and gradually whisk in the casein), and the other is whisking it with collagen and some Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. (Which, considering both Greek yogurt and cottage cheese are sources of casein by themselves, it’s kind of pointless to add extra!) BUT-that said, it really does the job. That I can’t fault. It gives me a steady supply of protein, prevents DOMS in the morning- which as a powerlifter is a must, and keeps my hunger at bay. For actual function, it’s great. I can’t comment on taste, I use unflavoured and flavdrops- I get bored with one flavour (mixing cherry or raspberry with marzipan makes a great cherry bakewell flavour btw👌🏻). But I can’t stomach the grainy texture- it really does take some doing to keep it down as it gives the texture of spoiled curdled milk, which is pretty grim! For actual function, it’s great. It’s a pretty good basic casein, but it’s massively let down by the texture which is genuinely a gag-inducing level of nasty! Goes Well With:Hot milk, at a push.

Low Price, Average Product
3Drawn by the number of positive reviews, I ordered vanilla casein to add to my supplement regimen. And it’s...fine. The price is about average. The taste is lackluster - I’ve had much tastier for marginally more money. Mixability is normal, if a bit watery. If you’re looking for a middle of the road powder, this is it. If you want something more, keep looking.

5This has helped me so much to keep me going as a snack whilst on nights. Keeps me full and prolongs my energy so I don’t end up unhealthily snacking. Chocolate flavour is great!

Avoid!!
1I have bought this product several times before and its always been great however this latest pack is going straight in the bin. Very grainy texture and does not mix well or taste good. Very disappointed! Especially as I bought 5kg!Goes Well With:Bin bags. Used to go well with milkshake powder.

Basically cement
1I'm new to casein I won't lie. So I'm not sure if the issues I have with this are common across all brands but this is the worst protein I've tried to date. (I bought the chocolate flavour) First of all it's an extremely light powder, make sure you're opening and scooping this over the sink. Literally hold your breathe if you have to, or it will go everywhere. I first tried mixing this with milk as almost all protein I've tried is best with milk so I'll test the best case scenario. Well, that best case was infact just cement. I used the recommended 250ml milk and literally knocked that thing back 180 degrees and it wouldn't even come out! Okay I thought, milk is a no go, that's fine must just be heavy on creamers or something. Nope, all though I was able to actually drink it when mixed with water, it didn't mix at all in reality. In reality the powder is just floating in a flavourless paste. Imagine scooping up sand from the sea bed, that's what it felt like I was drinking. The tiniest hint of chocolate that really did nothing to ease the experience. Will be trying a more reputable brand to see if this is a quality thing, but if not then the benefits of casein are simply not worth the pain.Goes Well With:Bricks and mortar
